In 1977, Christopher Ramos and his father, Peter Ramos, cofounded Glendale Powder Coating and have been proudly family owned and operated ever since. From the beginning, we’ve been at the same location in Glendale, California. We picked Glendale because it is strategically placed inside the Los Angeles metropolitan region, allowing our consumers convenient access. Our average employee tenure is 12 years, and some of our employees have been with us for more than 30 years.
The Ramos family has been involved in the sector since the 1930s, when they started producing paints and chemical coatings under the name Capital Chemical, which they later sold in the 1970s. When his father decided to return to work, Ramos bought a finishing line from a lamp business, upgraded it to full automation, and founded our company.
Our Glendale-based firm specializes in metal component protection and preservation through powder coating, liquid coating, and multistep coating services. Our 35,000-square-foot plant employs 50 people who coat items for Caterpillar, Ford Motor Company, Freightliner, General Motors, John Deere, and other companies.
